The Process For Male Sterilization
Male sterilization is the name given to the process where the male reproductive system is operated upon in a
bid to stop the sperms from becoming a part of the male semen. This means that the ability of the male seminal
fluid to fertilize the female egg cells is stopped, without any effect on sexual desire or libido.
The result is the males can have as much sex as they like, without having to wear condoms, or the female
adopting different methods of contraception, since the seminal fluid is now unable to fertilize eggs in the female
vagina, due the absence of sperms in it. The downside, however, is that the male will never be in a position to
have children, so males thinking of getting sterilized should give it a proper thought in case they don’t have
children, or should consult with their spouses as to whether or not their family is regarded as complete, before
opting into such a procedure.
The process by which a male is sterilized is called a Vasectomy Procedure. We know that there lies a pouch
beneath the penis, which is called the scrotum. This pouch contains two egg like spheres, which are known as the
testes. It is the testes, which are responsible for the production of the male sperms. They are situated in the
scrotum, for a temperature lower than the body temperature is required for healthy sperm production. The testes are
connected to the seminal vesicle via tubes known as the vas deferens. These tubes take the sperms and mix them with
the seminal fluid, which is then ejaculated into the female vagina. A Vasectomy Procedure ensures that the vas
deferens are clipped so that the sperm cannot reach the seminal vesicle and the ejaculation is only semen. Thus,
there is no need to use any contraceptives while having sex.

After giving it some thought almost thirty million men choose to have a Vasectomy
Procedure carried out on them in order to seek permanent contraception in this way. This procedure is not at all
complicated and could be performed at the clinic of your nearest doctor in a matter of fifteen to thirty minutes.
The procedure has now become so sophisticated that the patient is discharged from the clinic just after he has been
operated on.
Nowadays, the simplest and most safe Vasectomy Procedure is known as the no scalpel
vasectomy. As the name points out, the procedure requires no scalpel and thus no incisions are to be
made.
Instead, only two small punctures are made at each side in order to take out the vas
deferens and then either clip them, seal them or tie them and put them back into place. The surgeon may then decide
to close the skin punctures with sutures but they are so small they can close quickly without the need to use
sutures.
Another method of Vasectomy Procedure
known as the laser vasectomy is also gaining popularity. In this, a laser is used to seal the vas deferens so
that minimal pain and discomfort is caused. Even then, a little puncture or incision has to be made in order to
take the vas deferens out.
However, the procedure has now been made much safer and comfortable by the use of new
technology.
